Every day on Instagram I post my 'outfit of the day' otherwise known as #OOTD - By doing so alongside many stylish Instagrammers, I have got to know and 'virtually meet' many stylish ladies who come in all shapes and sizes, from both the UK and the rest of the world, and each & every one of them gives me a lot of inspiration.
Over the next few weeks, some of these gorgeous ladies will be telling you why 'Style' matters to them and to share their styling tips, as well as how they tackle some of their own body shape issues.
I am delighted to introduce Joanna from Newcastle, a fellow style blogger for LOVESTYLE40. Joanna is 42 and she loves putting outfits together and giving women inspiration to wear what they love and feel good in! That sounds fab to me... I hope you enjoy the interview,
Love, Lizzi x

How do you describe your personal style?
I would say my style is feminine, colourful, effortless and chic.
Why does style matter to you?
Dressing well and looking good are very important to me. It gives me confidence and makes me feel good when I look good. Nobody wants to be the same as others, so your style defines you as a person. You don’t need to be rich, you just need to know what suits you and how to style to your body shape.
Have you always been interested in style?
Always, from an early age, however I probably became more interested in experimenting and styling outfits in my late thirties.

What would be your signature style look?
It would have to be a blazer with jeans. It just works for daytime and a night out.
What’s your view on fashion vs. style?
Anyone can wear fashion. I love fashion, but style is what defines you as a person. Style is your personality expressed by clothing.
What is your body shape?
I would probably say I’m hourglass; I’m a size 12-14 mostly, 14 on top as I have a big bust.

Have you worked this out for yourself or did you get professional advice/training?
No professional advice, just working with my body and knowing what suits my shape.
What is the best thing about being Hourglass?
I suppose being hourglass I get to show off my curves and apparently we are the best at giving cuddles!
What’s not so easy about being Hourglass?
Having a big bust and hips makes it hard sometimes to wear clothing with buttons as they always seem to pull in those areas. There has been numerous times where I’ve had to safety pin dresses and blouses together. So I tend to stay away from this if I can.

What three styling tips do you have for Hourglass?
- Look for tailored pieces
- Consider a wrap blouse or dress
- Choose the right underwear!
What must you avoid (regardless of if it’s in fashion) for Hourglass?
Stay away from ruffles or any kind of volume enhancing details. This will just draw attention to the wrong areas.

What are your three favourite stores to shop?
My three favourite stores just now are, H&M, Zara, Debenhams for the choice and if I could have one more it would always be Marks and Spencer for good quality and fit.
What do you own that you will never ever give away?
My Chanel bag! No-one is getting that! (see below)

If you are to buy one thing this Autumn/Winter, what would it be?
I would invest in a good faux fur coat. I have a bright blue one, a leopard print one, and a black one. They come out every year and make you feel fabulous too.
