Loved by Lizzi: AW18 - THE TEDDY BEAR COAT

I'm going to kick start this blogpost with a caveat regarding pricing! I am writing this post on Black Friday weekend, so I cannot guarantee that the prices here will be the same if you head to the website (I hope you still manage to get any sale price).

The Teddy Coat is here for a second season, I am not surprised as this trendy number didn't really start until the new year of 2018, so there wasn't much of winter left when people started buying. Thankfully the high street got it right and continued with it, so that people could get value out of their purchases.

I absolutely love the one I bought here, a very lucky find last weekend whilst I was shopping - It's a Black Friday purchase and I got 60% off the price - I am pleased because it means I don't have to feel tied to this 'trend' come next year. It's not online I'm afraid so your only chance is to head into House of Fraser, it's the Linea collection - it should have been £130 and I paid £52!

The teddy coat is meant to be worn oversized and the shape naturally lends itself to that, I am not going to sugar-coat this next point, it's not an ideal coat for either hour-glass (like me) or for pear shape - so avoid wearing it too oversized and perhaps go down a size to get a better fit.

There are various spectrums of quality for this type of fabric and sadly those that are perhaps not up to scratch are still very pricey, so be on your guard and really check that you are happy spending on the standard you find. I am intentionally not showing any cheap store versions - I just do not feel they are worth you spending your money on.

Teddy coats come in lots of colours, the most popular this season are the browns, perfect for those with warm skin tones. There are also some lovely blue and red ones that can work with cool skin tones too.

I've not seen this one in store, I was actually looking for the bright mustard yellow one that I have been trying on for weeks!!! I downsized to a size 6, that's just how big it was coming up on me.

The yellow one is not online, but I found this, and I really like it.
